There is a rapidly growing recognition and dependence in all countries on the Mire major role of health information systems in enabling national health systems to be increasingly efficient, effective, and evidence-based. Thus, each country is starting from a different base line and moving forward to increase the use of health information systems.
Health information systems are used as a means for collecting, processing, and making available relevant health information at the point of need. Therefore such support systems should make the work of health practitioners, such as doctors, nurses, ambulance staff, and other healthcare support staff, more effective and safe.
